Natural Land Institute invites you to build your skills to use on your land, while you volunteer at NLI or other conservation organizations, or as a hobby.
The Winter Tree and Shrub Identification Workshop will be led by Zach Grycan (NLI) and Melissa Grycan (The Land Conservancy of McHenry County). They will teach you how to identify native and non-native trees and shrubs of northern Illinois by buds, twigs, and bark.
There will be an inside classroom session (with information sheets you get to keep!) and then an outdoor hike to test your knowledge. Don’t worry! There won’t be a written test. There will be a lunch break. Bring your own lunch or visit a local restaurant.
Cost: $20 per person, includes printed material.
Location: Nature at the Confluence, 306 Dickop St.
