Project Notice
The subject project has the following approximate limits of construction: Starting at South Beloit Municipal Park Pavilion and using the existing path along the north end of Lake Victoria to the railroad tracks on the east side of Lake Victoria. Continuing under the railroad tracks using the existing gravel path heading north to the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Lathrop Terrace. Ending on Lathrop Terrace at Wheeler Avenue.
The project is being funded in part by Federal funds and is being reviewed by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The project is in the process of preliminary design. The main components of the project are:
- Construction of a shared use path from the South Beloit Municipal Park Pavilion to the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Lathrop Terrace.
- Re-stripe Eastern Avenue to Lathrop Terrace to accommodate a shared use path going north and southbound
- Re-stripe Lathrop Terrace from Eastern Avenue to Wheeler Avenue to accommodate a shared use path going north and southbound.
The purpose of this Notice is to inform the public that the City of South Beloit will hold an Informational Open House concerning the public improvement project listed above. The open house will be held at the City of South Beloit City Hall on August 1, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. All persons interested in the project are invited to attend this meeting. The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis. Representatives of the City of South Beloit will be available to discuss the project, answer individual questions, and record comments offered by those in attendance.
The meeting room is accessible to persons with a disability. Persons planning to attend this meeting and who need other special accommodations should contact Ms. Tracy Patrick, listed below, by July 30, 2018.
