Mark your calendar for our FINAL Public Input Meeting for the Gardner Street Corridor Study. It is imperative that we lay the foundation of engineering options for the future!
A traffic study of the Illinois Route 75 (Gardner Street) corridor is being conducted by the Stateline Area Transportation Study (SLATS MPO) and the City of South Beloit. This study, which extends from Illinois Route 2 (Blackhawk Boulevard) to the Illinois-Wisconsin state line, will evaluate traffic operations, traffic safety, access, and multimodal accommodations along the roadway and recommend solutions that will address current and anticipated corridor deficiencies. While this project will evaluate existing features such as roadway and intersection geometrics, there is no construction project associated with this study, or its recommendations, at this time.
Public information meeting (PIM) #3 for this traffic study will be held at Nature at the Confluence, 306 Dickop Street in South Beloit on April 5, 2023 at 4:30 P.M. This meeting will present and discuss the preferred alternative of improvement strategies that were introduced at PIM #2 and developed to meet the study’s purpose and goals. This meeting is open to the public to attend, view, and comment on the alternatives. If you are unable to attend this meeting, electronic files of the exhibits and an audio recording of the meeting will be provided on the City’s website.
