South Beloit Parks & Recreation offers a vibrant range of outdoor activities for everyone! Whether it's families enjoying picnics, exploring scenic walking paths, or friends playing disc golf, there's something for everyone in our community.
South Beloit City Park on Lake Victoria
The South Beloit City Park, located on the shores of Lake Victoria, has a picnic area, picnic shelter, walking path, and fishing area. The Park shelters are available for rental by contacting the City Clerk’s Office. Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited. To be able to launch a boat, you must apply for a boating permit. An Illinois fishing license is required.
Bike Trails
Biking Routes and Dorr Road Bike Path
The Dorr Road Bike Path begins at South Beloit Municipal Park and parallels the roadway for its entire length. The trail ends near the forest preserve in Rockton and the Hononegah Recreation Path, which can take trail-goers further into Rockton or south into Roscoe. The Rock River Trail has been designated as a National Water Trail and offers scenic views that leads to 10 other amazing trails waiting to be explored! From the delightful Wine and Craft Beer Trail to the sweet Chocolate Trail, there’s something for everyone. If you’re a nature enthusiast, don’t miss out on the Birding Trail and various hiking routes, as well as Art and History trails that showcase the region's robust history.
