Regular City Council Meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 5:00PM.
All meetings are held at South Beloit City Hall, 519 Blackhawk Blvd. in the City Council Chambers. The public is welcome to attend.

All special City Council Meetings, Council Committee Meetings, and Council Advisory Meetings will be held with at least a 48 hour notice.

Bring your little ones for Story Time For Littles! This program is a time for rhymes, books and songs geared for those under 36 months of age.  This program is offered every Thursday at 10 am.

Bookends & Backbends!

Stop by for a great library program, Bookends and Backbends.  It is a yoga-inspired library experience geared for youth ages 8 and up. It is a time to explore focusing ability, fun, and physical well-being. The program is filled with yoga-inspired poses and games, along with meditative and literary elements. It’s held each Thursday evening beginning at 6 pm at the library.

Fall Harvest Celebration and Community Fire & Drum Circle

This month we’ll share the harvest from our gardens! Cream of Potato Chive Soup with Cornbread. Take home herbs from our garden! Whether you’re a seasoned drummer, or have never picked up a drum, you are invited to participate! We have all kinds of fun percussion instruments for you to try!

Nature Poetry & Prose With Natural Land Institute @ Nature At The Confluence Campus

Presented by Natural Land Institute In Partnership with Nature at the Confluence

Be inspired by nature themed works while listening to writers read their creative compositions that commemorate their experiences and observations of the natural world.

Several writers who are featured in NLI’s anthology, NATURAL VOICES, will read selections from the book at the event and include: Carolyn Bailey, Mary Caskey, Carol Fox, Don Miller, Wilda Morris, Lani Richardson, Dr. Karen Ruffner, Christoper Sims, Christine Swanberg, and Kaitlyn Tibbetts. New to the line up this year is Katie Andraski.

Event Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Come early or by 6:30 p.m. to mingle. At 6:45 the program will start with welcoming remarks and announcements. Readings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and go until 8:15 p.m.

Admission: FREE for NLI members. $5.00 for non NLI members (includes a one-time six month introductory membership to NLI). Light snacks and beverages will be available including hot cider.

If you have a copy of NATURAL VOICES: Celebrating Nature With Opened Eyes and want it signed by any of the authors bring it with you.

Cost: FREE for NLI members, $5 for non-members

Cameras At The Confluence: Capturing Color and the Golden Hour @ Nature at the Confluence

Sunday, September 29, 4:00 p.m., “Capturing Color and the Golden Hour”, Get ready to capture the beautiful colors of fall! Featured photographer to be announced.

Cameras At The Confluence is free monthly program that features a new photography topic each month with special guest speakers and experts. Participants will have time to discuss and try new techniques and share tips during the program.

This free program, held at Nature At The Confluence Learning Center, 306 Dickop Street, South Beloit, Ill, is open to area photographers of all skill levels and no registration is required.

Beloit photographer Mark Preuschl will be the facilitator at each program and each month a photographer that specializes in the monthly topic will be the guest presenter.

Never have enough time or space to work on your craft projects at home?  B.Y.O.C. (Bring Your Own Craft)!  Bring your knitting, embroidery, or whatever crafty project supplies you choose. We’ll still have coloring supplies for coloring enthusiasts. Drop in! We’ll meet monthly, on the last Monday of the month except for in December we will meet on Mon. the 17th instead.   This program is for adults only.
