It’s Turkey Time! Kids and families will enjoy story time, craft play time and outdoor nature exploration in this free program recommended for ages 4-7. Siblings are welcome!

Growing Up WILD is an early childhood education program that builds on children’s sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. fun, innovative activities and experiences.

“That’s How I Remember It” | Time Traveler Series Program featuring John Patrick @ Nature At The Confluence Campus

John Patrick grew up near the Confluence and is full of tales of life along the Stateline in the 40’s, 50’s and beyond!

South Beloit history buff John Patrick is author of 5 books including “The Good Old Days” and “Stateline Snapshots: A Beloit Area Scrapbook”. You won’t want to miss this talk that kicks off our “Time Traveler Series” that will highlight the people who lived and worked near the confluence of the Rock River and Turtle Creek.

John is very involved with the South Beloit Historical Society and is busy helping get the historic Bushnell Wheeler Home ready for the Christmas Open House Nov 22-24, so we’re so grateful he’s making time to share his recollections with us.

About The “Time Traveler” Discovery Series – If this land could talk it would tell you about the people that cared for it, revered it, cried for it, dreamed of it, and shaped it over the millennia.  The Time Traveler Discovery Series will explore the fascinating history of this land and the people who lived or worked near the confluence of Turtle Creek and the Rock River over the centuries. Regular City Council Meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 5:00PM.
All meetings are held at South Beloit City Hall, 519 Blackhawk Blvd. in the City Council Chambers. The public is welcome to attend.

All special City Council Meetings, Council Committee Meetings, and Council Advisory Meetings will be held with at least a 48 hour notice.

Cameras At The Confluence “Sunrise. Sunset.” featuring Spencer Jelinek Photography @ Nature at the Confluence

Spencer Jelinek is a prolific photographer that has exploded onto the regional photography scene with his amazing sunset and sunrise photos and other scenes. Come meet Spencer as he shares some of his favorite photos and find out about his techniques.

Cameras At The Confluence is free monthly program that features a new photography topic each month with special guest speakers and experts. Participants will have time to discuss and try new techniques and share tips during the program.

This free program, held at Nature At The Confluence Learning Center, 306 Dickop Street, South Beloit, Ill, is open to area photographers of all skill levels and no registration is required.

Beloit photographer Mark Preuschl will be the facilitator at each program and each month a photographer that specializes in the monthly topic will be the guest presenter.

Adult BYOC (Bring Your Own Craft) @ South Beloit Library

Never have enough time or space to work on your craft projects at home?  B.Y.O.C. (Bring Your Own Craft)!  Bring your knitting, embroidery, or whatever crafty project supplies you choose. We’ll still have coloring supplies for coloring enthusiasts. Drop in! We’ll meet monthly, on the last Monday of the month except for in December we will meet on Mon. the 17th instead.   This program is for adults only.
